Trump Foreign Policy: Changing and Disrupting Global Norms

Elisabeth Bumiller (Moderator) is Washington Bureau Chief of The New York Times. Previously she was The Times' Washington Editor and Deputy Washington Bureau Chief. Before that she covered the Pentagon, the White House, John McCain's 2008 campaign and New York's City Hall for The Times. She also worked for The Washington Post in Washington, New Delhi, Tokyo and New York. In 2006 and 2007, Bumiller was a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center and a Transatlantic Fellow at the German Marshall Fund. She has published three books, the most recent of which was Condoleezza Rice: An American Life. She serves on the WFPG Board of Directors. 

Julie Hirschfeld is a White House correspondent at The New York Times. She has covered politics from Washington for 19 years, writing on Congress, three presidential campaigns and three presidents. She joined the Times in 2014 after stints at Bloomberg News, the Associated Press, The Baltimore Sun and Congressional Quarterly. Hirschfeld is the 2009 winner of the Everett McKinley Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting of Congress for her coverage of the federal response to the 2008 financial meltdown. She grew up in New York City and attended Yale University. 

Anne Gearan is a Diplomatic Correspondent for The Washington Post, covering foreign affairs, national security and security policy. She is assigned to the State Department, the third time she has been posted there. Gearan has covered US policy and engagement overseas across three administrations, with particular emphasis on Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia, North Korea and China. Gearan has also focused on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and traveled extensively with the secretary of state and military leaders. She was previously the paper's lead campaign reporter covering Hillary Clinton. Gearan joined the Post in 2012 after more than 20 years with AP, where she served as Chief Diplomatic Correspondent and Chief Pentagon Correspondent.

Jay Solomon is the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for The Wall Street Journal. For nearly two decades, he has written from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, including stints in Jakarta, Indonesia; Seoul, South Korea; New Delhi, India, and Washington, DC. The Wall Street Journal has nominated him for three Pulitzer Prizes. Solomon was the first American journalist to uncover the secret meetings between the United States and Iran that took place in Oman. He led coverage of the nuclear negotiations for the Journal from 2012 through 2015. He published his first book, The Iran Wars: Spy Games, Bank Battles, and the Secret Deals That Reshaped the Middle East, in 2016.
