Keynote Speaker

Muhammad Khan

Dr. Muhammad Khan is a professor and researcher of applied linguistics with a specialization in language ‭policy and bilingual education. He has lectured extensively in the United States on language and ‭education in culturally and linguistically diverse settings and has conducted teacher development ‭workshops in his native Pakistan. Professor Khan ‭has published several articles on teaching and language training in Pakistani and international ‭journals and was the inaugural winner of an ALMA, an annual award given by Language on the Move, ‭a sociolinguistic research site. He was named ‭Outstanding Teacher by Aga Khan University and was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University ‭of Pennsylvania. He is currently a visiting professor of linguistics at Michigan Technological University. Professor Khan holds a PhD in applied linguistics from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, an MPhil degree in social science from Hamdard ‭University in Pakistan, and two master’s degrees with distinction in English linguistics and English ‭literature from the University of Karachi in Pakistan.
