Welcome to NYU Paris! Now that you've accepted your offer of admission, check this page for updates on important to-dos leading up to your exciting semester in France.
Apply for or Renew Your Passport
Please note that the French government requires that your passport be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned return from study abroad. The government retains the right to deny you entry into France if your passport is not valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned return (December 2020), so make sure to renew it now. Non-U.S. citizens should contact their local consulate for information on obtaining a visa.
Students depart NYU Paris on May 23, 2020. If your passport expires before December 2020 you should renew it to avoid any complications entering France.
US Students who need to renew or get a new passport should have it expedited. To review procedures for having a passport expedited, they should refer to this government website. They fall under the category of needing a passport for a foreign visa within 4 weeks.
Students who have already submitted their passport--without having already asked for it to be expedited--can still request expedited processing by contacting a customer service center.
Complete the Immigration Process
NYU's Office of Global Services (OGS) will be your main contact in navigating the immigration and visa process. Review step-by-step instructions on what you need to do on the Visa for NYU Paris page.
Submit All Required Forms
All students are required to submit a combination of paper and online forms prior to entry to NYU for the first year. These forms are used to collect needed information for your upcoming year or to ensure that you are compliant with university or government deadlines and regulations.
A partial (but not complete) list of deadlines, information and documentation include:
- Your housing preferences (through NYUHome)
- Proof of Graduation from High School
- Documentation of compliance with NYU health requirements, including: MMR and Meningitis immunization, a medical history form, completion of Alcohol.edu, and Think about It.
More information is available for incoming spring admission students through the internal enrollment portal.
Please update your contact information in NYUHome to ensure that all materials get to you promptly.
NYUHome is an excellent resource which provides you with an NYU email address, information on your bursar account and access to NYU classes where you'll be able to access a bunch of information we've put together on Florence for you to read before you leave. Once you have access to NYUHome, please make sure to update your addresses and phone numbers in our system—that ensures that we're able to contact you with important information, including essential mailings as we'll use the contact information you provide there. You can find instructions on how to start using NYUHome's basic functions here.
Additional forms and deadlines may be added as they become available.
