All NYU London students are required to live in housing organized or managed by NYU London
For the upcoming academic year, students studying at NYU London are required to live in NYU housing and will be housed in Byron Court. There is no meal plan. Students prepare meals in the apartment kitchens or eat out at the numerous restaurants in the nearby neighborhood.
Students may not submit requests for specific roommates during their freshman year at NYU, as we feel it is an important for all new students to meet new people, expand their interests, broaden their understanding of different regions and cultures, and stretch their comfort zones with all that NYU’s global network has to offer. We want our residents to celebrate each others commonalities and expect that they will respect each others differences.
Byron Court is an apartment-style residence. All apartments contain at least two separate bedrooms, almost all of which are doubles or triples. A typical Byron apartment contains two separate double bedrooms - a total of 4 beds. There are also a number of larger apartments, containing 3 separate bedrooms - a total of 6-9 beds. There are shared bathroom facilities with at least one shower (not baths) within each apartment.
The two elevators serve most of the residence, but do not go up to the highest floor (the fourth floor).
The residence has a good amount of communal storage space, and also has communal areas for study and leisure, including a pool table and foosball table, a playstation 3 and a selection of games, and dvds.
There is an on-site office where facilities and Residential Life staff are based. The reception area is staffed by security guards 24 hours a day, and there is usually at least one student RA to support students in the building.
